Once a year the Diocese honors the faithful who show great love and devotion to their parishes in little quiet ways with the reception of the Diocesan Marian Medal presented by Bishop daCunha in the context of Evening Prayer and Benediction at the Cathedral in Fall River on Sunday December 1st at 3:00 PM. Our recipients from our Collaborative Parishes are as follows:

St. Francis of Assisi – Lydia Murphy
Lydia gives of her time at St. Francis as a Lector, a member of the Choir and always there to help and straighten things up after Mass all in a very quiet way but lives and loves her faith in helping others.

St. Lawrence Martyr – Anne Kelley Jennett
Ann is a daily communicant of Mass and immediately after Mass on Monday and Thursday begins to replace the votive candles that have been used up. She is a Eucharistic Minister and helps out with the sorting of collections assisted by others . She is a member of the Collaborative Women’s Group and always loves to help out with the pre meeting raffles that the ladies enjoy.

Holy Name of the Sacred Heart – Janet DeMoranville
Janet a daily communicant of Mass, a member of the Collaborative Women’s Group and always there to help prepare for parish functions and very rarely misses any functions that take place here in the parish. She is a very dedicated volunteer at the St. Lawrence Food Pantry as well as the St. Anthony of Padua Food Pantry and helps out at their parish functions as well where her family members are parishioners.

For all three of our recipients, parish life is part of their extended family, a place to pray, a place to socialize and assist in any way and show their love to one another. Congratulations to our recipients and Thank You for all you do!
