The 2022 Marian Medal Ceremony will take place Sunday, December 4th at 3:00 PM at The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, 2nd Street, Fall River.
This award allows us an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication by individuals of our parishes. Congratulation to all our recipients! May God continue to bless you and may Our Lady intercede for us and lead us to be inspired by her humble “yes” to God.
Our 2022 Marian Medal Recipients from our Collaborative Parishes:
Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish: Kathleen McKenna
Kathleen a daily communicant of Mass, a Eucharistic Minister who every Saturday brings communion to those who need assistance at Mass, has taken on the role of the morning greeter at daily Mass, assists our parishioners with her nursing skills, and is a great help with our fundraisers and present for all of our funerals making sure our families in their grief are welcomed and provided the beautiful comfort that they need in their difficult times of life.
St. Francis of Assisi Parish: John Markey
John is one of our Lectors who from the beginning of the pandemic took on the duty of assisting here at Holy Name at the 7:30 AM Mass, and continuing as Lector at St. Francis. He is always out there doing the cleaning of the pews, handing out bulletins etc. As a very special ministry he brings his parents communion faithfully each week after Mass. All done so quietly.
St. Lawrence Martyr Parish: Matthew Nowick
After the death of our former president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Joseph Langlois, Matthew stepped up to the plate and took the helm of a very active St. Vincent de Paul Society which receives many calls each year for assistance. Juggling a full-time job and family, Matt very humbly rises to the occasion to see that each call is investigated, coordinates the monthly meetings and follows up on each call. Matt is a greeter at the 11:30 Mass and a Eucharistic Minister.
Congratulations to our recipients. Each will receive the Marian Medal on the afternoon of Sunday December 4th at a prayer service at the Cathedral of St. Mary presided by Bishop daCunha.
Blessed forever be those who love you and bless you O Blessed Virgin, bless us all, in the Name of you dear Son.
