The diocesan preparation program for those adults (18+) seeking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation is intended to provide catechetical instruction in the faith, as well as spiritual support to compliment the parish in the formation of candidates, who are completing their initiation in the Catholic Church.
This program consists of seven sessions total, with both virtual and in-person sessions.
Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Participants who miss two or more sessions may be asked by their pastor to postpone the reception of the Sacrament to the following semester, if the content which has been missed cannot be made up in some way. Participants are asked to share their screens during virtual sessions.
Spring Schedule 2023
Online Sessions: Thursday Evenings from 6:30pm to 8:00pm
In-person Sessions: Saturdays from 10am to 2pm at St Julie Billiart Church Hall, 494 Slocum Rd, North Dartmouth, MA 02747
Program dates: Saturday, March 4; Thursday, March 9; Thursday, March 16; Thursday, March 23; Saturday, April 1; Thursday, April 13; Saturday, April 22.
Conferral of the Sacrament of Confirmation: Thursday, May 11, 2022 at Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, 327 2nd St, Fall River, MA 02721 with mandatory rehearsal with Confirmation sponsors at 6 PM and Mass at 7 PM
Registration Fee: $75 –Payable to the Diocese of Fall River, 423 Highland Ave., Fall River 02720 Memo: Adult Confirmation
It should be noted that in order to be a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation you must be Confirmed.
